The driving instructor theory questions & hazard perception test is a computer based test which contains questions on a wide range of driving related topics which are essential for teaching people to drive. The hazard perception section tests your anticipation & awareness skills which are an important aspect of a driving instructor.
The multiple choice theory questions contains 100 questions which are set out in 4 bands. To pass the section you will need to score an overall mark of 85% or more. In addtions you will need to score 80% or more in each of these bands. The band sections are as follows:
Road Procedure
Traffic signs & signals, Car control, Pedestrians, Mechanical knowledge
Driving test, Disabilites, Law
Publications, Instructional technique
The driving instructors hazard perception test sections requires you to carefully watch 14 short video clips. You will be required to identify & respond accordingly to major hazards which develop in these clips. A combined total of 15 major hazards are shown as 1 of these clips contains 2 major hazards. Using a mouse you will need to react accordingly and the earlier you click the mouse once a hazard first identified the more points you will score. The scoring system is marked between
0 - 5 point based on how well you respond and a total of 57 or more points out of 75 point are required to pass this section.
